History & ethos

C3 has its roots dating back to 1996 when the Founder and current President of C3, Richard Aguillard (Ricky), first became a NACE certified coating inspector. Ricky then went on to work as a Quality Assurance inspector for a number of different asset owners and inspection firms of various industries including petrochemical, marine and aerospace.

Having developed his expertise in the coatings industry during that time, Ricky established his own coatings inspection business in the early 2010s called Asset Coating Inspections, LLC. The goal of the business was to provide asset owners exceptional Quality Assurance for all their corrosion control endeavors involving the use of protective coatings. In his senior role as a level 3 coatings inspector, Ricky delivered on his company promises to several owners of high value assets including pipeline companies across the country, the U.S. Coast Guard and NASA.

​Years later, Ricky partnered with his son and the two reincorporated the business into one with an expanded set of corrosion control services naming it, Corporation of Corrosion Controllers (C3). The vision of the new corporation going forward is to develop and offer comprehensive corrosion control inspection and engineering services, namely via the use of protective coatings and cathodic protection, to asset owners and contractors having a vested interest in the preservation of assets prone to the deteriorating effects of corrosion.
